This is a critical course aimed at educating individuals on the importance of creating inclusive and safe spaces in the media industry. The discussion will focus on how to recognize and address gendered and racialized power dynamics, and how to foster an environment of acceptance and respect for all.
Throughout the course, participants will learn about the ways in which women and minoritized folk are underrepresented, misrepresented, and marginalized in media spaces and will explore how to provide resources and support, while also examining how to challenge oppressive systems.

Chantal volunteers for various initiatives that work towards accessibility and equity for all. She cut her teeth in human rights advocacy through Pride movements and community organizing. In her professional life, she used to work in software development, product management, and information security, but now she gladly lends her technical proficiencies to support human rights defenders and civil society actors.

Her main advocacies are gender justice and technological justice. Currently, she serves as one of the core group members for Digital Rights Coalition Philippines—a loose consortium of digital rights advocates dedicated to fight digital disinformation and uphold human rights in the digital field.
