      Cancel Culture, Smart Shaming, and Online Trash Talking is a course that explores the complexities of online communication and the impact it has on individuals and society. The course covers topics such as the meaning and origin of cancel culture, the effects of smart shaming and online trash-talking, and the importance of responsible digital communication.

      Throughout the course, students will learn about the importance of empathy, critical thinking, and responsible communication in the digital age. They will also learn about the dangers of online mobs and the ways in which online communication can perpetuate harmful stereotypes and reinforce oppressive systems.       Bernz is currently a World Bank consultant under the Urban and Disaster Risk Management Team, working on technical assistance focused on resilient housing, disaster risk management, smart cities, and green and resilient cities. She used to be the Project Coordinator for the Initiative for Media Freedom at the Foundation for Media Alternatives which aims to fight information disorder by engaging the youth in media literacy and looking into the intersection of human rights and ICT. Bernz has over 10 years of experience as a project manager: From research and development work on various urbanization themes to content creation and program management for technology companies such as Microsoft, Citrix, and Twitter.
